Next week, I will be taking part in a charity poker event hosted by Peace for Humanty, which is a organisation aiming to “create projects to help children, women and disadvantaged people” in Asia. They have hosted a few events now and so far, it’s been really good. I wouldn’t consider myself a good player but I do love playing poker when the opportunity arises. Like with any sport, (if you consider poker to be a sport) is that Poker is a love and hate game.

The thrill of winning a big pot with the adrenalin rushing through you or when you get busted out by a calling machine (fish). Anyway, here are some random reasons why I love playing Poker, Texas Hold’Em:

• Bluffing when you have a crap hand
• Re-raising a raiser and getting a caller when you know you have the “nut” hand
• Re-bluffing when you know you’re beat but you get away with it
• Being dealt pocket aces before on the flop
• Watching all the trash talkers getting knocked out
• Watching all the fish, tanking
• Good chance to show off your poker chips piling skills
• Hitting the nuts on the flop
• Making the final table
• Making the money
• On yeah, it’s a good way to meet new people and have a laugh
