Online Marketing – my day job..

When I tell people I work in Online Marketing, I often get asked the question, “so what exactly do you do??” Hopefully after reading this entry, I will never get asked this question again. Ok so I work for Morodo Group and we have this mobile app called MO-Call. MO-Call is free to download and is supported on a lot of phones such as Android, iPhones, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile etc. In a nut shell, MO-Call basically allows you to make low cost local and international calls, SMS/texts and VoIP calls. It’s a really cool app if you have family or friends living a different country. It’s really handy for me as I used to use my O2 sim card when ever I had to call home and it cost a fortune.

Anyway I think my official job title is Social Media, Blogging and Online Marketing Executive but Online Marketing Executive will do for now I guess as it’s quite a mouthful. My main job role is mainly SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and Online Marketing where my job is promote the MO-Call service online and to ensure we appear as high up as possible on the results page when people use the search engines to search for stuff. Think of when you use Google to search for something, do you ever look past page 2 or 3 of the search results? This is what SEO is, ensuring  we are optimised for search engines.

I work in a small team of four people with sales, support, developers and technical support in different parts of the office. Often we all get to collaborate and work together so it’s a pretty dynamic team. I learn a lot of new things everyday and loving the environment so it’s all good so far :)

Hopefully I won’t get asked the question “so what exactly do you do??” again……
